This is one of the great thinkers of our times. A visionary and a challenge to our current social predicament. He challenges us to live courageously in the face ot terror and devastation and ask "what does it mean to be human" and live life in response to the answers to that question.

Support the Congo Initiative
http://www.congoinitiative.org/view.cfm?page_id=143
This is an initiative that my wonderful sister Bethany is apart of. Along with one of the greatest guys I know (Baraka) and his family, they are working to improve Congo through education and social support! The school is going strong and they need more people to know about it, and organize things to help them do their work better!
Welcome to the Congo Initiative!

Christmas Music
I am a lover of all types of music, but one of my very favorite types is Christmas music. It is, obviously, Christmas season where the Christmas songs have been playing since the day after Halloween (well at least in my town); and we get to hear every rendition of Christmas favorites like "Little Drummer Boy" (Even I wrote a version), or "Carol of the Bells". However, I want to talk about the best version of a classic. Celine Deion sang the best rendition of "Oh Holy Night" That I have ever heard!
I know, that is a but overly dramatic, until you actually hear the song. She didn't change the song and make it something it wasn't meant to be! She certainly didn't ruin it. She hit every note with virtual ease and sang the song as if it were her last. People tend to like to make fun of her; but I think that she is an incredible singer and has put together a body of work that few popular artists can follow; and she has done it one amazing song, and album at a time.
Anyway, I invite you all further to read my thoughts and help me push this music thing forward!
Love you all! Hope all is well.
Merry Christmas

Encouraging
So, it has been 3 weeks since I leaked my first song onto youtube and I have gotten almost 800 views. That is not an astronomical number, but that is letting me know that something is working and that people like what I am doing.
I am like many of the old time artists in that I am never really all that sure of my own music. I am my own worst critic and it at causes me to scrutinize my music in such a way that it doesn't ever get heard if I don't love it...I really have to love it for others to get a change to hear it and it's hard to get to that point with everything I have written thus far. So, the result has been me not releasing things for such a long time. However, I have been trying to work myself past this stage to a point of confidence in my music.
Either way, my hope is to bring a style of music to people that they are not used to. I want them to hear subject matter and interpreatations of events in deeper and more profound way than the music that currently circulates in our society. I want to shape thoughts and attitudes. It's about helping people become free...and that means s lot.
Hope you are all well! It would be great to hear any thoughts!

Getting Started
This is the first, of hopefully, many more opportunities to connect with those that have been and will begin to follow my music. I have recently begun to "leak" some of my music on Youtube, and gettting people connected through facebook. Now, I am trying to take it up a notch and get a blog and get it all linked to my MicControl Page.
This is sort of exciting, because the timing has really been great and things are falling into place. I have already about 700 views on a song I put up two weeks ago and I look forward to see it grow more. This should help me get more traffic out there. I'm going to be getting a logo soon and getting my formalized business stuff together and then the show should be on the road!
I hope to have interesting things to say; and pictures from events and daily life to help people connect. I hope this blog can create a fertile ground for me to really pursue my album interests harder. The issue now is choosing which one to do first. I have several already written, and it just now comes to choosing the one that makes the most sense.
Well, I'm out for today! Hit you all back at a later time!
God Bless
